HISTORY PROFILE OF THE SCHOOL

The school was started in 1977 replacing Gathirimu mixed secondary school which was a one stream day school that run from 1974-1976

KEY MILESTONES

1976- 12 classrooms, 7 dormitories, a dinning hall, laboratory, recreation room,

                              Administration block, a typing pool and 5 teachers house were constructed. 

1977-The school admitted the first four streams of form one students.

1979-The school received 35 type writers from the ministry of education and started

                             to offer typing as an examinable subject.

1981-The school purchased its first school bus KTS 607.

1986-Drilling of borehole and installation of water pump.

1991-A four-storey (A.K MAGUGU)was completed.

1996-The school purchased a school van KAG 669U.

1997-The first 3-storey block of 6 teachers houses was completed.

1998-The second 3-storey block of 6 teachers was completed.

1999-Computer study was introduced in the school and the computer

                             Lab installed with 18 computers.

2001-School purchased a generator.

2002- The school purchased a new bus KAN 208U after the first one broke down.

2007-The school bakery was established as a cost cutting measure.

2008-Established a teachers  computer lab with four computers

2010-A 51 seater isuzu bus KBL 376G purchased.

2012-Zero grazing unit constructed a five dairy cattle brought as a cost cutting measure.

                             15 computers bought and internet /local area network (LAN)installed.
